Ares signed PKI contract with Nepal's WDN for central Asia presence

Well-known Taiwan-based information service solution integrator Ares International Corp. recently signed a contract with Nepal-based World Distribution Nepal Pvt. Ltd. (Group) (WDN), authorizing WDN to promote and sell PKI-related information security products and solutions developed by Ares in central Asia countries such as Nepal, Pakistan and Bhutan. This is the first for a Taiwan-based software company to enter the Nepal, Pakistan and Bhutan markets.

Frank Lin, president of Ares, indicated that Nepal is still at an initial stage for promoting information security identification mechanism; therefore, the market still has significant growth potential. WDN is the largest Nepal-based software/hardware and program development integrator. The company has evaluated various international information security product and service providers and actively seeks to become the agent for Ares information security products in Nepal, as Ares has years of related experiences while the self-developed information security products of Ares can be swiftly and effectively adopted. Via working with WDN, Ares expects to rely on its ability in integrating local resources and control over local channel for assisting Nepal in developing its information security infrastructure.

With the influence of WDN, Ares expects to promote its information security product solutions in central Asia, with the solutions including CA (Certification Authority), RA (Registration Authority), VA (Validation Authority), PKI Kits and related PKI consulting services. The Ares information security products to be represented by WDN will be for the Nepal market first and promoted to regions including Pakistan and Bhutan later, Lin said. With the channel and influence of WDN in Nepal and other central Asia regions, Ares will successfully cultivate its presence in Asia, Lin added.

WDN is the exclusive agent of information imaging products of major international players such as Sun Microsystems, Oracle, Dell Computers and Toshiba in Nepal. In addition, the company also acts a distributor in Nepal for Cisco systems, Patton, Allied telesyn, Diebold (the largest ATM provider in the US), Check Point (leading Internet safety software company), VeriSign, ESRI (US-based geographic information system (GIS) company), etc.
