What is Material Management?

Material management covers procurement, receiving, inventory, consumption, transfer, stocktaking, and scrap — coordinating suppliers and departments to ensure adequate materials, minimize inventory costs, control flow rates, meet production schedules, and ensure safe storage and transport.

Key System Functions

Material management is a critical part of production control — directly affecting production flow and product cost. The MMS provides complete historical records and document printing for the following key operations:

Material Maintenance
Categorize materials for easy management. System attributes include expiration dates and safety stock levels, with additional custom attributes available as needed.
Requisition, Issuance, Replenishment, Returns & Scrap
Material handlers manage all material movements against ERP warehouse inventory based on production line requirements.
Automatic Material Deduction
Integrated with ERP BOM, the system automatically deducts materials at each production stage — keeping system inventory aligned with actual stock.
ERP Inventory Integration
Upon production completion, the system automatically updates ERP inventory with finished and semi-finished goods data.
