The QC system collects data during production and applies statistical analysis to detect and address anomalies in real time, minimizing production losses. ciMES includes on-line SPC, emphasizing early detection and correction before defects occur.
QC is built on statistical methods paired with production data collection, making it closely tied to EDC. The QC framework covers four areas: Data Collection (handled by the WIP module), Statistical Inspection (using rules such as Western Electric and Nelson Rules), Graphical Presentation, and Action — where out-of-control (OOC) events trigger pre-defined responses such as automatic engineer notifications.
Beyond SPC, the QC system also supports AQL, sampling size confidence levels, defect reason code management, and subsequent quality exception handling and tracking.
Compared to other MES solutions on the market, ciMES offers superior industry adaptability — delivering bidirectional IT/OT integration, process recipe management, real-time SPC, and more. It has been invaluable for hardware control, data collection and analysis, and finished and semi-finished product testing and quality control.
