Taiwan Semiconductor Successfully Implements HCP to Enhance HR Management Efficiency
Amid the global wave of digital transformation, Taiwan Semiconductor has implemented the HCP Human Capital Planning System to streamline HR processes, enhance management efficiency, and optimize overall business operations.
Ms. Peggy Yu, HR Manager at Taiwan Semiconductor, shared her insights:
“HCP is a strategic partner for HR. It empowers us to become the guardians of company policies while significantly improving compliance, decision-making, and operational efficiency.”

ESS/MSS: Digitalizing Leave Applications and Approvals
With the ESS and MSS functionalities, employees can now apply for leave and check attendance records, health insurance, and group insurance details via computer or mobile devices. Managers can approve requests online, reducing paperwork and improving administrative efficiency.
Taiwan Semi’s HR manager, Peggy Yu said, “HCP features an intuitive and user-friendly interface. Our managers and employees appreciate its convenience and efficiency, helping us transition smoothly to digital operations.”
To ensure smooth adoption, the HR team conducted training sessions for employees and managers across headquarters and branch locations, promoting hands-on familiarity with the new workflows.
100% Employee Participation in Updating Personal Data via ESS
To improve the accuracy and completeness of employee records, Taiwan Semi encouraged all staff to review and update their personal data—including contact information and emergency contacts—through the ESS system. Updates are automatically routed to HR for database synchronization, ensuring both efficiency and data integrity. Employees can also confirm their dependents’ insurance coverage via the system.
60% Reduction in Payroll Processing Time
By integrating payroll, attendance, timecard records, and approvals, HCP streamlined salary disbursement. Previously reliant on Excel and manual input, payroll processing was error-prone due to a large workforce and complex shifts. HCP has reduced payroll processing time by 60% and minimized errors.
HR Specialist Ming-Jui Hsu shared: “Automating attendance and payroll processes reduced error rates and allowed our HR team to focus on more strategic tasks.”
Additionally, team members can now rotate payroll duties, enhancing flexibility and promoting work-life balance.

Automated Attendance Alerts Save Time and Labor
Previously, HR staff had to manually review attendance and send email reminders for missing leave requests. Now, HCP sends weekly automated reminders for abnormal attendance, significantly saving time and improving compliance with labor regulations.
Compliance and Flexibility for Complex Manufacturing Shifts
Managing shifts in manufacturing environments is challenging due to rotating schedules, overtime rules, and evolving labor laws. HCP provides flexible configuration for various clock-in/out times, late/early leave rules, work-hour calculations, and shift allowance logic. It also supports real-time patch updates to stay aligned with labor regulations, safeguarding both the company and its workforce.
Why Taiwan Semi Chose HCP
Compared to other cloud-based systems, HCP offers greater customization and detailed configuration tailored to manufacturing needs. ARES' expert consultants and tech team provided timely support, helping Taiwan Semi maximize the value of its HR system.
Peggy Yu emphasized: “The ARES team gives us great confidence. Whenever issues or change requests arise, they respond quickly with professional solutions. That was a key reason we chose HCP.”
Strengthening HR Strategy and Global Expansion with HCP
More than just an HR system for Taiwan Semi's headquarters, HCP is a strategic partner in the company’s HR transformation. It has helped shift HR from a purely administrative function to a policy-driven and strategic role, enhancing the company's digital work environment.
Looking forward, ARES will continue supporting Taiwan Semi with high-quality products and services, making HCP a core pillar of the company's HR strategy and global expansion toward sustainable development.
