Ares information security R&D patent certified by China government

Ares International Corp. recently saw its "Table Look-Up Method for Abstract Syntax Notation Encoding/Decoding System" patent won recognition from China, with the patent awarded patent No. ZL 2004 1 0006288.X (certificate No. 429483) from the State Intellectual Property Office (SIPO) of China. This not only recognizes the achievements of Ares in the information security field for more than seven years, but also displays the significant invention power of Ares.

The "Table Look-Up Method for Abstract Syntax Notation Encoding/Decoding System" patent already passed the patent application in Taiwan, Japan and the US. It is the core of the ARES uPKI information security products and is used in Internet connection that is coded using the ASN.1 technology.

Dye Lin, R&D manager of Ares, said the advantages of the patent are that the ASN.1 encoding/decoding program can be quickly implemented and underdone a version change swiftly. With the new ASN.1 Syntax, the decoding program can be used without being updated. Besides the quick decoding speed, the user only needs to understand the Syntax structure and ASN.1 Tag, Lin indicated.

The Ares Internet information security R&D team has developed for years its unique information security series products while receiving various recognition for its self-developed "Table Look-Up Method for Abstract Syntax Notation Encoding/Decoding System" patent (Taiwan Patent No. 202651, China Patent No. 429483, Japan Patent No. 3802540, US Patent No. 6999010) and fast, efficient Multi-Sign/Counter-Sign (Taiwan Patent No. I 237772).

ASN.1 (Abstract Syntax Notation number One) is a formal language for abstractly describing messages to be exchanged among an extensive range of applications involving the Internet, intelligent network, mobile phones, ground-to-air communications, electronic commerce, secure electronic services, interactive television, intelligent transportation systems, Voice Over IP and others. In the past 20-30 years, constrained by the ASN.1 decoding technology, the system always need to be revised and recoded to meet the new information exchange rules. The developments of Ares in ASN.1 are important for information security applications. The patents can not only lower the revise and testing time for the program, but has advantages such as a simpler development process, faster execution speed and less requirements for the system resources.
