Ares presents manufacturing execution system at DIGITIMES seminar

Ares International Corp. recently presented its self-developed manufacturing execution system (MES)－computer integrated manufacturing execution system (ciMes) at DIGITIMES Application Forum (DAF).

At the seminar, Jacky Tseng, production manager of Ares, was invited to deliver a speech on "A different MES."Tseng stressed that enterprises should realize their actual needs before choosing the right MES. By doing so, the enterprise can achieve real-time, data-oriented and transparent management.

MES requires management layers: the strategies of the upper level should be transparent, the production management of the mid-class should be data-oriented while the factory information collection of the lower level should be real time, Tseng explained, adding that various steps from execution, integration, monitor, management and strategy should see individual information delivered to the top level of the enterprise for strategy deployment and management command.

At the event, Ares exhibited its ciMes, demonstrating how ciMes can realize integration of manufacturing and production by considering the problems and needs during production and creating all-encompassing production advantages for the enterprise.

Ares cited an example of a client with headquarter in Taiwan and two factories in China. The client was unable to monitor and manage individual production operation since its factory locations were far from the headquarter. However, after introducing ciMes, the client can integrate and monitor production information via web from Taiwan. In addition, it can check order details by various configurations and control production time via real-time reports. ciMes not only assists clients to thoroughly improve problems during manufacturing, meets the need of real-time manufacturing information, but saves production time, improves order fill rate, lowers the number of work in process and defective rate, time for tracing material and product while having a stricter production cost estimation. As such, the enterprise can improve its sales performance and generate more profits.
